Jews Getting Their Temple? (Jesus Christ en route)

Last year I ran an entry called “Jesus is Coming Soon,” and I detailed a bunch of reasons why I think so, my reasons based solely on what I see in the news every day and how that relates to Bible prophecy.

Well, another interesting development came to my attention the other day: the Jews will soon have their new temple, something that marks a milestone prophetically speaking as we approach the end of the age. Numerous Scripture passages talk about a temple being in place during the final days of mankind. Jesus spoke of it, Daniel the prophet did and so did Paul the apostle.

It is commonly understood that when Jesus gave the parable of the fig tree in Matthew 24, He was essentially saying that the generation that saw the rebirth of the nation of Israel will see all the end of the age prophecies come to pass. They will be executed like birth pangs, slowly at first then increase in frequency and intensity until ultimately giving birth to His Second Coming. This is why, since 1948 when Israel was reborn, we’ve seen growth and increase in the following areas: wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, tsunamis, crazy weather, immorality, crime, etc. It’s all happening just like Jesus said and, friends, He’s never wrong.

So, for me to see the news that next year Jews expect to be able to go up not only to the Temple Mount but into an actual temple, I’m not surprised. And please note, this is a big deal in Israel. Jews are not allowed to ascend the Temple Mount because, since the Jewish rabbis don’t know 100% where the original temple site was, they don’t want to accidentally step on forbidden areas, the main example being where the Holy of Holies once stood. (As per Levitical law, only a purified priest was able to go in there and talk to God lest there be huge consequences.)

I suspect a formal announcement of some kind to come down the wire soon. How soon, I’m not sure—few weeks, maybe a few months—but soon.
