Fuchs has been active in the publishing field since 2004, having published 23 of his own books and collaborations to date. He’s the editor-in-chief of the premier house of monster and superhero fiction, Coscom Entertainment.

What we want:

Terrifying stories featuring Bigfoot, whether as a lone creature or as a group. The setting can be anything you want, however, unusual settings like cities, other historical periods, etc. will be given preference.

Your story only needs two things to qualify:

- Bigfoot must be the main bad guy(s)
- Needs to be genuinely scary

Stories are to range from 3,000 to 6,000 words (though we’re willing to go a bit over, within a couple hundred words).

What rights do we want?

First print and electronic rights to your story and exclusive rights for 1-year after publication.

What we don’t want:

In the interesting of keeping the anthology friendly for a younger audience:

No coarse language or graphic sex.

No reprints. New stories only, please.

Multiple submissions are allowed, but only up to two at any one time.

What we’re making:

Bigfoot Among Us will be published as a trade paperback and as an eBook.

What you get:

1 cent a word and a contributor’s copy. The paperback copy of the book will be sent to you upon or shortly after the book’s official release date. Payment is based on final word count from the final edited copy of the story, so once your story is ready for print, payment will be sent to you via Paypal.

Courier 12pt, double-spaced, with any italicized words underlined. Also include your name and contact information on the first page as well as your name in the upper right corner of subsequent pages. Don’t forget to also number your pages.

Synopsis:

Bodies litter the sand of a friendly beach. Axiom-man flies down to Florida to investigate only to discover this isn't your average series of murders. Something else caused the deaths of these innocent people, and something else has caused them to rise. Something unnatural, perhaps even supernatural. Something . . . from beneath the ocean's black water.

Of Magic and Men (comic book):

For a time, people were going missing, without a sign or trace as to their whereabouts. Then, for a time, they resurfaced, mutilated and broken, some with bizarre attachments surgically grafted onto their severed limbs. One name has surfaced as to the architect of these twisted acts of violence: the Magic Man. Axiom-man takes it upon himself to bring the Magic Man to justice, and uses the only bait he has to draw out this deadly maniac: himself. Welcome to the underground.

The Dead Land:

A young boy goes missing. No clues. Nothing except the remnants of a black cloud, like the one coughed up from inside the Doorway of Darkness. A black cloud that takes Axiom-man to a world not his own. A dead world, where a gray and brown sky shrouds an entire city in a miasma of decay. The streets are empty. The young boy is nowhere to be found. Those he does find...are dead. And walking.

Blood of the Dead (Undead World Trilogy, Book One)

One year ago, the world came to an end.

Ever since returning through the Storm of Skulls to the present day, Joe, Billie and August have discovered the world they now inhabit, is not the world they left behind. The zombie threat has evolved to gargantuan proportions. In 2027 A.D., the Zombie Apocalypse took the world by storm and no one was prepared. Countless lives were lost as humanity battled to regain control of their planet. Eventually, they did, and out of the ashes of fallen civilization rose a new world, one bent on revenge against the hordes of the undead that took everything from them.

Enter Tony Sterpanko, entrepreneur extraordinaire who found a way to capitalize on humanity's thirst for vengeance against the zombie. He created Zombie Fight Night, a worldwide craze where the undead men and women who remained from the apocalypse faced off against people and beings that once existed on Earth or were existing for the first time.

It is ten years later and at Blood Bay Arena, fortunes are won and lost. Men are made millionaires over night. Others are not so lucky and find themselves broken and destitute.

Axiom-man

One night Gabriel Garrison was visited by a nameless messenger who bestowed upon him great power, a power intended for good. Once discovering what this power was and what it enabled him to do, Gabriel became Axiom-man, a symbol of hope in a city that had none.

One night after a routine patrol, a mysterious black cloud appears over the city. Flying over to investigate it, Axiom-man is stopped short when the cloud's presence shakes him to the core. An electrifying fear emanates from the cloud and he can barely get near it. Quickly, the cloud takes flight and leads him on a wild goose chase throughout the city, only to flee from him in the end. Almost immediately after the cloud's appearance, a new hero arises, Redsaw, clad in a black cape and cowl. The people, now enamored with this new super-powered marvel, seem to have forgotten about Axiom-man and all he's done for them.

Except something's wrong. That same fear that emanated from the cloud drips off Redsaw like a foul smell and Axiom-man can barely get close to him without feeling ill.

What is Redsaw's agenda and who is he? And why is it every time Axiom-man gets close to him it feels as if his powers are being sucked away?

As if that wasn't enough, Gabriel's day job hasn't gotten any easier. His co-worker and the woman he adores, Valerie Vaughan, has little interest in him, and his boss has made it clear that one more day late to work will be the day he cleans out his desk. Then there's the new trainee, Gene Nemek. What is his fascination with Redsaw and why is he never around when Redsaw appears?

As for Fuzz Society, it's the polar opposite of zombies, but cool nonetheless. The story is:

Come along for a big-scale adventure with Lyra Ladybug--the cutest bug you'll ever meet--who's full of curiousity, and who's not afraid to stand up for herself even though she's tiny. Watch as she gets carried along through Gossling Park on a gum wrapper, and finds herself lost in a land so familiar yet so far from her own, only to meet up with new friends along the way. Perhaps even one who's more than friends.

Coscom Entertainment Signs on with Hughes Capital Entertainment to Develop its Properties to TV, Film and Video Games

Leading independent horror, zombie mash up and superhero fiction publisher, Coscom Entertainment (www.coscomentertainment.com) has signed a Management and Production Deal with Hughes Capital Entertainment and newly formed, Management Period. The focus of the relationship is to integrate the Canadian-based Publishing company into mainstream entertainment via motion picture, interactive/videogame, and television mediums. Some of Coscom’s flagship titles such as The War of the Worlds Plus Blood, Guts and Zombies by H.G Wells and Eric S. Brown and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Zombie Jim by Mark Twain and W. Bill Czolgosz are coming out under Simon and Schuster's Gallery Books imprint later this fall. Standout titles like Alice in Zombieland and World War of the Dead will be the immediate focus of the HCE development team.

Monster and Superhero Press Signs with New York Agency for Representation

Winnipeg, Manitoba—Founded 2004, Coscom Entertainment steps up its game to a new level by signing with a New York literary agency to sell titles abroad.

Coscom Entertainment publisher and author A.P. Fuchs has now taken his company out of the small press and into the big leagues by signing an agreement with the Ethan Ellenberg Literary Agency of New York. The mission: reprint the Coscom Entertainment catalog domestically and internationally and get movies made of its titles.

Originally content to sticking to the small press, Fuchs knew he had to change his game plan when producers and foreign publishers came knocking on his door asking about some of Coscom Entertainment’s titles.

“I’ve been at this publishing and writing game for a long time,” says Fuchs, an unashamed self-publisher who started Coscom Entertainment as a means to release his own material. “It’s nice to see that despite some of the cold shoulders over the years, self-publishing does indeed have its place and can be used as a launching pad for a small press and solid opportunities.”

All the hard work, thousands of hours invested, the ups and downs—it has paid off. Fuchs and his team of authors are ready to show the mainstream publishing world that there’s plenty of fresh material out there in the monster and superhero genres, two areas of interest that Fuchs made Coscom Entertainment’s focus in 2008.

“Some people say monsters and superheroes are a kind of weird combination for a press’s niche,” Fuchs says. “Then I remind them the Incredible Hulk combines those niches perfectly, and while we don’t have big green monsters running amok over here, we got plenty of zombie, werewolf, vampire and superhero fiction to satisfy a reader looking for a fun read and wanting to be entertained.”

The story:

Winnipeg, MB – Author and publisher A.P. Fuchs brought the world to its knees in his zombie novel, Blood of the Dead, back in 2008. In 2008, A.P. Fuchs dragged his hometown of Winnipeg, MB, through a zombie apocalypse not once but twice. Joe Bailey prowls the Haven’s streets, taking them back from the undead, each kill one step closer to reclaiming a life once stolen from him. Billie Friday and Des Nottingham soon have Joe to thank for their lives.

As the dead push into the Haven, the trio is forced into the one place where folks fear to tread: the heart of the city, a place overrun with flesh-eating zombies.

They soon discover they are not the only humans there. After meeting an old man with a peculiar past, Joe and the others must make one last stand against the undead or unwillingly meet the same fate.

A desperate escape leads them to a place thought impossible to exist and to a discovery that will shake the future.

After stumbling upon an ancient spell book hidden in the school library, Shawn and Barry decide to play a prank on those at the beautiful Belinda’s Halloween party, a party Mitch will be at with his jerk friends.

First stop: the local cemetery.

Except something goes wrong and instead of raising just one or two of the dead, the entire cemetery bursts to life and masses of living corpses go to work feeding on the living.

Heartbroken, confused and scared, Barry tries to escape the dead’s clutches as life as he knows it falls apart all around him, leading him on a journey across Florida and into a battle bigger than anything he’d ever imagined or thought possible.

The story:
